BREAKING NEWS: President Biden commutes the life sentence of Leonard Peltier

Leonard Peltier’s life sentence has been commuted by outgoing President Joe Biden after spending nearly 50 years in prison.

“I am also commuting the life sentence imposed on Leonard Peltier so that he serves the remainder of his sentence in home confinement,” President Biden said in a statement, which has since been removed by the White House website.
